Day of Noise

What:

The Day of Noise is a 24-hour celebration of experimental and improvised music. The concept of the Day of Noise is uninterrupted, unique live performance for one day straight. A tribute to all things strange and beautiful, the 10th edition of the Day of Noise features 27 artists and counting. The performance styles will vary from “drone Ramones” to free jazz to collaborative noise art. KZSU Stanford 90.1FM is home to one of the most diverse and influential college radio music departments in the country. The Day of Noise is our way of supporting risk-taking and creative, independent musicians. It’s about sharing what we love with the local and international music community.

When:

The 2012 KZSU Day of Noise will take place on Sunday February 12th, beginning at midnight and lasting 24 hours straight until 11:59pm.

Where:

To listen live, tune in to 90.1FM on any radio in the Bay Area or listen live at KZSU Live or find us in iTunes Radio under College/University radio. We’ll also have a video feed on ustream but audio will have to be streamed separately (using the above). Visuals can be supplemented by the KZSU Studio A feed.

KZSU’s studios are located in the basement of Memorial Auditorium on the Stanford University campus. All performances will take place live in-studio on February 12th. Unfortunately there is no seating or place to view the performances within KZSU’s studios. KZSU will project the visuals and amplify the live music from various locations across campus on February 12th.

KZSU will be giving away Day of Noise t-shirts leading up to the event, so tune in early and tune in often at kzsulive.stanford.edu or 90.1FM.
